My Healing Perspective

About - Dr. Jeff Schoenheit, L.Ac. in New York, NY

My goal is to help you achieve balance in your nervous system, relief from pain, and a healthier, more fully-alive, embodied experience. Through working with my patients and having been a patient of acupuncture myself, I have seen first-hand the impressive results that acupuncture and Chinese medicine can have. I am grateful to be able to share the benefit of my training and experience with you. My background includes education not only in acupuncture, but in a number of powerful healing modalities. I am licensed by the state of New York and recognized as a diplomate by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

I primarily practice two styles of acupuncture. The first is commonly called the "Balance Method," utilizing classical treatment strategies derived from the I-Ching, in the tradition of Dr. Richard Tan. The second style, and the largest focus of my practice, is Modern Biomedical Acupuncture, which uses "dry-needling" techniques and a contemporary understanding of neuroanatomy, motor points, and trigger points to treat pain and improve function. I am very thankful to my mentor Dr. Eileen Han, founder of The Academy of Acupuncture, for her guidance and tutelage in the Balance Method. I also give special thanks to Dr. Rich Hazel, L.Ac., Dr. Dan Wunderlich, L.Ac., and Canadian chiropractor Anthony Lombardi for their training in the assessment of injuries and in modern biomedical approaches to acupuncture treatment.

I have also studied Frequency Specific Microcurrent with Dr. Carolyn McMakin, developer of the modality and author of The Resonance Effect. I have found it to be an indispensable addition to treatment for many neurological and pain conditions.
